Who is this for?

The Level 3 Award In Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is the most popular first aid qualification. This course is the choice of many employers to ensure they are meeting the requirements of the Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations 1981. This course is also the minimum requirement for the Door Supervisor qualification.

The QNUK Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is ideal for those employers that need to meet the minimum requirement of first aid regulations; typically those working in shops and offices, Door Supervisors and Security Guards. The learner will develop the skills, knowledge and understanding to deal effectively with a range of emergencies in the workplace requiring first aid.

The qualification includes additional content related to those working in security roles where the risk of additional injuries and conditions have been identified.

Pre-Requisites:

This qualification is aimed at those over 16 who are able to undertake the responsibilities associated with being an emergency first aider.

Attendees will be required to demonstrate First Aid procedures as they would in a real work environment. This includes providing CPR to a casualty who is on the floor, therefore be physically capable of doing so.

Course Elements:

LO1 The learner will understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider

LO2 The learner will be able to assess an emergency situation safely

LO3 The learner will be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally

LO4 The learner will be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally

LO5 The learner will be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking

LO6 The learner will be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding

LO7 The learner will know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock

LO8 The learner will know how to provide first aid to a casualty who has been burnt or scalded

LO9 The learner will know how to provide first aid to a casualty who has been affected by drugs
